I would leave no stars if it allowed...My story is long, but I think it's important that people be made aware. In september of 2017 I went to hospital due to pain in kidney area and feeling really ill. It ended up I had kidney stones and infection on both sides. I also had severe sepsis. They of course booted me out after a few days with a stent only on left kidney, even though right kidney was more blocked due to staghorn stone. So within a few days I was in more pain and really ill. So I went back Oct 5 into oct 6, the attending doctor called urologist then just gave me a new antibiotic and pain meds sent me home. On october 8 i could not walk or stay awake so went back to north suburban by ambulance (they wont take you to any other hospital in my area). They admitted me due to stones and severe sepsis. I got two stents put in and had a fall risk bracelet on. On the early morning hours of October 11th I called nurse to assist me to restroom. ( i was very ill and on heavy narcotics) The nurse came in, but stood 2 to 3 feet away. I stood by wall to get bearings, and went to take a step , but fell backwards hitting my back and neck on the bed, then fell to the floor hitting my head on floor very hard. The nurse hollered for help. People came running sat me up and then push me back down. Finally they stood me up and put me in bed. They did a ct scan no bleeding, but never did a doctor come exam me and no one else. Instead that day they transferred me to a different floor. The next day a social worker comes in and asks me if i will go to rehab. I agree if i can have a private room and after infectious dr and heart dr clear me. 30 minutes pass and rehab is there to take me. Once at rehab they act like no knowledge of fall instead tell me I had a heart attack. No one will listen or help me I was having issues with vision and brain function. I would not even know where I was. I was forced to go back to North Suburban for surgery late in october. I had two more surgeries. Once home I seen neuro and I had a bad concussion. In end I was diagnoised with a mild tbi. Some bad concussions heal while others end up with life long mild tbi, my cognitive function is now moderately impaired. I cant go do notary classes and get certified as i am not retaining or understanding information as well. My emotionally health due to injury is bad to point I recently tried to end my life. I had issues with my neck finally in 2018/ early 2019 after a mri of neck and emg it showed i had C6 C7 damage and nerve damage. I had surgery this past January. However I have severe pain and will need shots. I tried to work with north suburban the last three years the nurse falsified records. I am not allowed to know what happen to her (probably nothing), they stand by they did nothing wrong and don't care. I asked for some financial compensation, but they maintain there's no neglect on their part or staff. Lawyers only want big money cases and are like medical only care about their name and money. I have to live with this all not even sure i can or want to. So be aware you might get good care and then that one time they hurt you for life. I would rather die then go back to them to finish me off. Very sad but greedy uncaring world. Many people have horror stories of north suburban. They let my elderly mother with dementia choke on food or not give her anything. Good luck if you go there.😒
