As to timeliness, cleaniness and service, I waited over two hours past my appointment time to even be sent to the preparation area. I waited over another hour in a hospital gown in the cold. The nursing staff was rude and unresponsive to questions or requests. Yet even before I was awake from the anesthesia, someone was trying to get me dressed and out the door, ignoring my nausea. As to price visibility and expectation, I called in advance to confirm that all services would be covered by my insurance, and was assured they were fully covered with no deductible or co-pay. A few days after the procedure, I was hit with a big bill from the only anesthesiologist in the facility, and DEC's and the anesthesiolgists's explanation is that I only called Dallas Endoscopy Center, and not the anesthesiologist (even though neither the identity of the anesthesiologist nor the fact that her charge was not covered was not disclosed to me until after I left) and that they didn't believe they were required to tell me that the nurses and anesthetists working at DEC didn't really work "with" DEC. I'm still arguing with them about the billing. If your doctor insists using this place, insist on using a different doctor.
