First off my doctor is an amazing doctor so when he said this is the hospital we would be using I trusted him. I was concerned when they wanted a chunk of money up front, but I was in so much pain I needed this surgery and as soon as possible. I wasnt given any estimated cost of my surgery, they said they couldnt give me an estimate until they'll saw how bad my diease was. (I did a little research online so I could get some idea) My doctor was amazing. The hospital staff not so much. My first nurse told me not to be upset about not being able to have kids, I could just adopt, "its like adopting a dog." I was surprised she would say that about a child.... I went thru my surgery with no issues, I was scheduled to spend one night in recovery. Im glad it wasn't any longer. First off my catheter hurt so bad, I had to complain for almost two hurts before someone looked at it and realized I had a blood clot in it and they rinsed it out. Then the next morning they finally said I could take it out, but the male nurse wouldn't let me use the bathroom. He said my bladder wouldn't fill for at least a half hour. Finally he let me use the bathroom when I started to wet the bed. After my surgery I get a notice that I could have to pay tens of thousands of dollars (well over the estimated costs I saw online) They have been arguing with my insurance for months! The whole thing is stressful....

I have been at this facility twice as well as my son and mother in law. We all had get experiences. Staff was awesome from front to back and from the money due to the procedure everything was explained fully. I would highly recommend Pacific Coast Surgery over a hospital anytime.

No explanation of charges in advance or pre-authorization with insurance. Told we'd have an out of pocket expense and when I questioned this, because we'd met our max out of pocket amount and insurance was covering 100%, I was told that insurance only pays a set amount and we'd be responsible for the rest. She was very dismissive. Now that I'm trying to work with the insurance to see why I'm paying anything at all, I've asked them for a copy of the claim that was submitted and they won't provide one. Also, they said that if the insurance does in fact pay, I won't get refunded the amount I've paid on my own.
