I underwent orthopedic surgery for a severe wrist fracture at theTri State Surgery Center. My surgery was delayed for hours; however, I was not notified of the delay until I arrived at the facility. I had not had anything to eat or drink for over 10 hours when I arrived, including any pain medication. For the three hours I waited in the pre-operative surgery area I was asked repeatedly if I was in pain and to rate my pain. I rated my pain a 7 out of 10. At NO time did any memebr of the staff, including the anesthesia staff, provide me with pain medication. Also the CRNA was so arrogant and rude that she did not even introduce herself by name to me. She simply stood at the foortof my gurney, looked, at me, flipped thurough the chart, and asked, "when was the last time you had something to eat or drink? and then walked away." When I wrote the manager of the facility about my experience and completed the patient survey, I never received a response. As for there billing, 10 months after my procedure an outside auditor reviewed the patients charts and determined that I should have been billed for an additional $500 worth of charges. I would definitely NOT recommend this facility for any outpatient surgery procedure, and I have worked in the healthcare field for nearly 30 years.

Ridiculous service and wait times. Staff were running behind from first appointment of the morning. Made cute comments like “oh we’re soooooo far behind” without doing anything about it. Required to show up 30 minutes prior to appointment but don’t check in until 30 minutes after appointment. 2-hour wait time. Ridiculous and unprofessional.

Their billing department called me a couple of weeks before my scheduled procedure (a colonoscopy) and said they would need me to pay an amount of over $700 up front. I told them I would not be doing that and I requested that they instead bill my insurance so that I can guarantee that I would get insurance coverage and have the amount applied toward my deductible. I have very good credit and always pay my bills once they are processed through my insurance. I told them this, but they still refused, and said they needed the money up front as a "good faith" payment, because that was their policy. I canceled the whole appointment and they basically lost my business because of this policy. If they won't trust me to pay my bills then why should I trust them either?
