My surgery was scheduled for 2/9. I completed all paperwork weeks in advance. Did all my preop duties. They confirmed my appt MULTIPLE WAYS AND TIMES. I then receive a phone call at 6pm the night before my surgery from Tabitha. Who wanted to “go over some medical information” I was then told that the information I provided weeks ago wasn’t reviewed until the night before my surgery and Tabitha proceeded to inform that they couldn’t manage my intubation needs at their facility and canceled my procedure. To add insult to injury- she had the audacity to not inform the doctor or staff so their nurse called me at 6AM looking for me because my surgery was at 730. I call back only to get a full voicemail. I finally reach someone and it’s TABITHA who says something to tune of “I just told them you weren’t coming. It was late in the day so I just told them. Sorry to wake you” This was completely unprofessional.and a huge waste of my time and resources - and also my doctor’s time. It takes so much for patients to prepare to have surgery and the error that was made should’ve been assessed PRIOR TO CONFIRMING MY APPT but definitely sooner than the night before surgery. She even admitted this was something she should’ve called me in for an assessment sooner. So now I have to reschedule my procedure and continue suffering because TABITHA didn’t do her job. THIS WAS A CARELESS ERROR. If their intake staff is this careless, I’m glad I didn’t risk my life coming here. Hope my condition doesn’t worsen waiting to be rescheduled at a place that is competent at what they are doing.
